Cavapoos
What can we say? We love Cavapoos so much that they’re the only breed we’ll ever own again and they’re the only breed we breed… Why? And what exactly is the Cavapoo? A Cavapoo is considered a “designer” breed or ‘hybrid”. The Cavapoo is a blend of the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and the Poodle. Variations of the Cavapoo range depending on whether you’re breeding to a Toy Poodle, or Miniature Poodle. The original Cavapoo was the result of a breeding between the King Charles Cavalier and Miniature Poodle. Now, however Cavaliers are being bred to Toy Poodles as well for a smaller dog. We breed both Miniature size and Toy size Cavapoos. We love the weight and look of the Miniature but the Toy is easy to carry around and less weight on your lap-and if you know Cavapoos they love to be on your lap. People call them “Velcro dogs” because they love to be attached to you. (in a good way) If they’re not on your lap, a part of them usually needs to be touching a part of you.. Other options to consider as well are the blend of the two breeds. An F1 is a 50/50 blend of Cavalier and Poodle, whereas the F1b is a 25/75 blend. That is what we breed for a higher percentage of Poodle. Cavapoos are fiercely loyal and endearingly devoted. They have the playfulness and intelligence of the poodle but also like to relax and hang like a Cavalier. It’s been our experience that Cavapoos are social and comfortable with other dogs and with people (including children) and make wonderful playmates for the family pack. We cannot say enough good things about Cavapoos. Other reasons to own a Cavapoo are that the health concerns a Cavalier King Charles are prone to ie: heart disease, eye conditions etc. are diminished with the blending of the two dog breeds. Additionally, the Cavapoos are low to no shed. This varies but it has been our experience that the Cavapoo hardly sheds at all (if at all).. We haven’t personally experienced any shedding from our dogs.. That is one of the reasons we enjoy the breed. Cavapoos are also super soft and cuddly. Having a Cavapoo as a family member is like having a real life teddy bear that loves you to no end. ♥
